The Stortford Music Festival makes a welcome return this year, and a slot on the main stage will be awarded to the winner of Sounds Like Teen Spirit, a band competition for under 18s.
The competition is open to solo musicians or full bands. Festival organiser Twig is encouraging school and college bands from the Herts and Essex area to enter:
“We had a fantastic response to our band competition at the Bish Bash in 2016 with eight bands competing in the final. We hope to have a healthy number apply for this year’s event. It gives us a chance to hear what’s up and coming in the area as the school bands don’t have many opportunities to perform in public.”
Previous winners of the competition include Embassy and 21st Century (now Riveria).
Musicians are encouraged to send links to their music to the festival to compete for a place in the final which will take place at the URC Hall in Water Lane, Bishop’s Stortford on April 14th.
All band members that make it to the final will receive weekend tickets to the festival.
The winners will play a set on the main stage at the 2018 Bish Bash which takes place on May 5th and 6th on Sworders Field in Bishop’s Stortford.
To enter the competition, all band members must be 18 or under.
