Grapevine Teams Up with Ipswich Basketball

Grapevine Magazine has teamed up with Ipswich Basketball to be the fixtures and results sponsor for the 2016/17 season.   The club has been developing elite basketball players in Suffolk since 1976 and this season will compete in almost 200 National League and Academy fixtures.

Grapevine sees the association with the club as natural extension of what they do – promoting live entertainment.  But isn’t this sport?  Yes, but if you have ever seen seven foot tall Leigh Greenan hanging from the hoop after a crashing dunk you will understand where the entertainment value comes from.

Traditionally basketball features pre-game and half-time entertainment so it is not that far from what we do.  We publish over 1,000 entertainment events on our website every month, helping Ipswich Basketball publish its 200 fixtures and results is a natural extension of our day to day job.  Sue Stone – Grapevine’s owner.

In recent seasons the club has had to rely on links to Basketball England’s website to help supporters keep up with where its various teams are positioned.   This season the club has ten teams competing across the age groups at National League level.

It is great to welcome Grapevine Magazine on board alongside our other sponsors.  Their involvement is very specific and allows us the opportunity to display our own fixtures, results and league tables on our brand spanking new website.   Nick Drane, Head Coach, Ipswich Basketball.

The one year sponsorship deal does not mean that Grapevine will be reporting on basketball games. remains the most comprehensive live entertainment website in East Anglia and they will leave basketball stories where they belong at
